Onyeka, Awilo, others thrill guests at AY Live Easter Show


A Nigerian actor and comedian, Ayo Makun, a.k.a. AY, said a lot of efforts were made in featuring some of the nation’s best entertainers at the annual comedy and music show, `AY Live’ The show, which was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, lasted from Easter Sunday till the early hours of Monday.

According to AY, this year’s outing remains one of the best since the history of the event. “When we began planning for this edition, we had so much wanted to achieve and we put in a lot to bring to reality all our ideas. “I’m so glad our efforts paid off well and I’m very convinced everyone who came out had a great time.

“This is just the beginning as the other editions for the year will even be better’’, he said. There were musical performances from ‘Elegant Stallion’ Onyeka Onwenu, who rendered some of her evergreen hits. Some guests could not hold back their excitement and sprayed money on her in appreciation of her performance. Other performers were AY, who basically co-hosted the event with On-Air Personality, Freeze and Comedians, ‎Laff Up, Mc Shakara, Still Ringing, I Go Dye, Ushbebe, Acapella, Akpororo, Seyi Law, Helen Paul, Princess and Funnybone.

Musical performers were‎ Sexy Steel, Vector, Korede Bello, Lil Kesh, Kiss Daniel, Xplicit Dance Crew, a Fire Dancer, Camerounian Makossa star- Awilo Longomba, Phyno and MC Galaxy. Adewale Adedeji, Senior Brand Manager of Maltina, the sponsors of the event, said, “We are a brand that is very keen in sharing happiness, just as our brand message emphasises.

“When we identify a cause that upholds this, we give it our best support, which is one of the reasons why we decided to renew our partnership with AY Live,’’ Adedeji said.  Nollywood actresses, Toyin Aimakhu-Johnson and Empress Njamah and eight other guests were announced as lucky winners of Maltina’s surprise gifts. The AY Live series will continue with the Port Harcourt and Abuja legs billed to hold later in the year.
